Grace, Intention, Purpose

While practicing yoga today, the teacher expressed the importance of grace, intention and purpose while executing one's poses.  They show up over time, with a little practice and a lot of patience she said.  You already have everything you need within you.  But, maybe you don't feel that it is within you yet, so having other students in the room to inspire and motivate you is a wonderful thing.  This is such a great benefit of having an all levels yoga class.  We are all there working, sweating, improving, growing at our own level and supporting each other in the process.  As you connect to what inspires you (let's say the first set), it instantly transforms you to become your best self (in the second set).  Instant Improvement!  What if you approached each moment as your best moment and see what transpires as a result of holding that space for yourself and even for your neighbors?

Amazing things are going to happen!

First Class Basics

So you are ready to come to your first Bikram Yoga class....  here are some tips to have a great experience:

-be well hydrated
-come on an empty stomach (usually 3 hours gap between eating and taking class is best)
-go in the second or the third row so you can use the experienced students as visual guides
-plan to stay in the room, you will get used to the heat
-take a break if you feel overwhelmed
-do your best and try the right way
-remember to smile and enjoy the process

Good luck!
